About this site — and why you can trust the figures

What this site is

Kaufnebenkosten-Kompass is an independent German- and English-language guide to one specific question: what does buying property in Switzerland cost on top of the purchase price? Transfer tax, notary and land-registry fees and the mortgage certificate — explained canton by canton, with a calculator that compares cantons directly. The site is built and maintained independently by Pavlo Popov — see the imprint for full operator details.

Our data methodology

Every figure on this site follows three rules:

  1. Official source first. Tax rates, fees and procedures link to the cantonal or federal page they come from — you can verify everything yourself.
  2. Dated freshness. Every canton page shows a check date with the day we last re-verified the figures against the official source; we repeat the check quarterly.
  3. No invented numbers. Where a canton publishes no fixed tariff (for example, freely negotiated notary fees), we say so and mark ranges as estimates.

Privacy by design

The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your inputs — purchase price, canton, financing — are never uploaded, stored or seen by us. See the privacy policy.

This site provides no legal or tax advice; the authorities and the notary are authoritative. It is free, with no ads and no affiliate links — no one pays for its recommendations.
